First Sunburn of the Year
Bob and I hit our 12K run again today. We always stop at Starbuck's at mile 4 to fill up our water bottles and use the restroom. Our Barista ___ saw us coming and brought out 2 ice waters for us. Now that is service! I will have to give him a fat tip tomorrow when we get our morning coffee.
It was supposed to reach 80 degrees today. We did notice that it was rather warm and I guess I wasn't thinking when we started out because I forgot to put sunscreen on. It's February for heavens sake, it's not supposed to be 80 degrees and sunscreen is usually the last thing on my mind. I've been warned by mother nature, summer is here!

Jake's Toy Dillema
Jake has not let go of his toy since he picked it out at Pet Smart yesterday. He took it outside this afternoon to take a pee. Take a look at the disappointment on his face when he found out that he peed on it. He wouldn't pick it up but also wouldn't leave it outside.
So I picked it up, put it in the washer and he didn't leave the washer until it came out of the dryer. Wash cycle was 40 minutes and the dry cycle was 30. I let him pull it out of the dryer himself and he was soooo proud.

Run,walk then toys
Bob and I started the morning off with our 12K run. It was overcast, chilly and we ran into a few light showers. We always feel soooo much better after we've got our long run in for the weekend.
After our run, we decided to take the boys for a walk in the riverbed to see if we could flush out any rabbits. We went biking near the riverbed yesterday and saw a ton of rabbits. The boys didn't get to chase any rabbits, there was quite a few people riding horses and we think they spooked them. The boys were definitely on the hunt, they perked up at the smallest sounds even the leafves that turned in the wind.
The boys were so good and since they didn't find any rabbits in the field we decided to take them to Pet Smart and let them hunt for their own stuffed animals. Jake found this fox and he ran for the door. He didn't stop until he reached the car door. He thought he was sneaking out of the store.
Mac is sooo happy to have his new toy, he hasn't let go of it since we got home. He's a very happy boy!

Hockey Game: Duck's vs. Kings
We had an opportunity to go to an Anaheim Duck's vs. Los Angeles Kings Hockey game last night. I friend of mine has season tickets and was going to be out of town and offered them to us. This is one of the best games to go to as it's two So. Cal teams. It was a packed house, every seat full, all the way to the ceiling of the Honda Center. It was a little tricky finding parking and leaving, but Bob navigated it perfectly!
The seats were amazing, we were 8 rows off the glass. Just close enough to see the whites of their eyes, but not the vibration of the glass when they body slammed each other into it.

Wow! What an incredible game! There were plenty of fights and penalties, Bob and I found ourselves really getting into the game.

During one of the breaks little kids, from one of the local kids leagues, came out to shoot goals.

Valentine's Day
I wasn't up for much celebrating on Valentine's Day as I had a horrible cold and fever most of the day. Bob was so kind and took care of me. He kept my water bottle full, made me tea and hot soup and made sure I had plenty of kleenex. We watched quite a few movies and got caught up on all of our recorded programs (24, Lost and The Biggest Loser). Jake and Mac cuddled with me all day!
Bob was so wonderful I wanted to make dinner for him. Here's a picture of a NY Steak with chocolate merlot sauce with grilled onions, garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. I couldn't taste much due to my cold, but Bob promised it was really yummy!

Last Day in Jacksonhole, WY
Headed up the tram to get some really awesome shots of the valley.
This was a really cute little shack at the top of the Tram. Toilet was a hole in the ground and they ran the heaters in there to help the decomposition and it didn't even smell.
This is my money shot! These are the famous ragged Teton Mountains.
Which way do I go, Black Diamond, Black Diamond or Double Black Diamond? I think I'll take the tram back down.
This is a double black diamond that people could drop into or off of the top of the rock. YEAH RIGHT! I'll leave it for the really crazy Yahoo's!
Also, took some amazing shots on the way to the airport.

This is the famous "Sleeping Indian" Mountain. Can you see his pointy nose and the headdress? There's even a little cloud over his mouth that looks like a puff of smoke.

Jacksonhole, WY
Wow! What an amazing trip. The weather has been amazing, blue skies and crisp cold 0' to 30' weather. There seems to be an inversion in the weather temp. It's 30' on top of the mountain and 0' at the lodge.
Check out the view of the mtn from our hotel room. You could see the entire mountain and the lifts.

Swollen Eyelid
I woke up to a swollen eyelid.
I went to the eye doctor this morning to see if there was anything he could do. After examining my eyeball he didn't see anything, so he thought it might be just an irritation. He flushed out my eye with some saline solution and said to put a cold compress on it.
The Santa Ana winds have picked up the last couple of days, I wonder if that might be related??? Doctor said to put a cold compress on it, so I will keep my fingers crossed the swelling will go down.

Bob's Sick
We went out for another great run on Saturday (7 Mile Loop).
Bob decided to go for another run this morning before work at 5am. He went a little farther than he thought, Garmin said he went 5 miles. What a great way to start out the day!
When he got home from work he figured he had caught a cold. Very sore throat and cloudy head. The next day he was man down and had to stay home from work.

Snowboarding at Snow Summit (Big Bear, CA)
After a late night playing Wii we decided to sleep in. In the morning we checked the weather report and lift ticket availability at Snow Summit. The website said the all day and 1/2 day sessions were sold out. Bummer! Skunked again! Determined to get in some snowboarding over the holiday break we decided to drive up and check it out. If we had to stay the night on the mountain we were going to snowboard no matter what. The drive up was really nice. The temp gage in the car read 60 degrees all the way up the mountain and a low of 50 in Big Bear City. All parking lots were full, but the sign said they still had some night session tickets available. Bob braved the crowd and bought some tickets. We had a couple hours to kill before the night session began so we headed to the city center for some lunch. We ate at our favorite Italian rest., Paoli's. We were set to hit the hill, our bellies were full and we had a doggie bag for the ride home.
Snowboarding was amazing! This was our first time snowboarding this year and we were wondering if it would all come back. Sure enough! We didn't fall when we got off the lift, this was a good sign. First run down and we got our snow legs back. Our legs were a little tired from the run and Wii from the previous day, but we were determined to get in as many runs as we could before the night session was over. We got in about 8 runs and our legs were trashed. We hobbled back to the truck, took off all our gear, got packed up and saw the doggie bag from lunch. We were so excited, it was like Christmas morning.
This is Fred (dad calls him Poo-Bear), my trusty road companion.

The Monk's Play Wii
We tried the Wii at our friend Casey and Charlie's house. Oh my!!! The game, in addition to being a ton of fun, is an incredible workout. Thank you C&C for guiding Bob and I through each game and taking it easy on us when we battled it out in the Outdoor Adventure Race. Our shoulders were a little sore the next morning.

We drove by this tree not sure what kind it was but had these huge puffs of cotton. The rolling hills are green and many flowers are in bloom.
