After a late night playing Wii we decided to sleep in. In the morning we checked the weather report and lift ticket availability at Snow Summit. The website said the all day and 1/2 day sessions were sold out. Bummer! Skunked again! Determined to get in some snowboarding over the holiday break we decided to drive up and check it out. If we had to stay the night on the mountain we were going to snowboard no matter what. The drive up was really nice. The temp gage in the car read 60 degrees all the way up the mountain and a low of 50 in Big Bear City. All parking lots were full, but the sign said they still had some night session tickets available. Bob braved the crowd and bought some tickets. We had a couple hours to kill before the night session began so we headed to the city center for some lunch. We ate at our favorite Italian rest., Paoli's. We were set to hit the hill, our bellies were full and we had a doggie bag for the ride home.
Snowboarding was amazing! This was our first time snowboarding this year and we were wondering if it would all come back. Sure enough! We didn't fall when we got off the lift, this was a good sign. First run down and we got our snow legs back. Our legs were a little tired from the run and Wii from the previous day, but we were determined to get in as many runs as we could before the night session was over. We got in about 8 runs and our legs were trashed. We hobbled back to the truck, took off all our gear, got packed up and saw the doggie bag from lunch. We were so excited, it was like Christmas morning.

This is Fred (dad calls him Poo-Bear), my trusty road companion.

Starbuck's Egg Nog Latte (non-fat of course) for the road trip home!
